Poetry
Willy McGee
by David Ortmann
written in 1992
Crazy old man was he,
William Farber McGee.
"Call me Willy" he was heard to say.
(When he spoke at all, you see).
Talking with the trees,
or staring at the sky.
"Don't do much at all" they'd say.
And who are they to say, I pray?
The wisest of all, was he,
old Willy tree-talking McGee.
